FilePro 2020 – The details

After last month’s update, I received a lot of positive feedback and requests for more information. As such, I’m going to expand on the previous article and provide more details for the upcoming interface upgrade.

A quick history

Over the last 18 months we have been testing our new development tools. Global Search and Dashboard are two recent features born of this.

As mentioned, Version 18.1 will be the final release employing our old style. We are now ready to move forward with vigour.

Gearing Up

Now that we have built the framework, we have bolstered our development team with the addition of 3 new programmers.

Our team are champing at the bit to get into it, as well as a little relieved that we have taken them off the old, limited programming tools, providing the creativity they want deliver.

Project Scope

FilePro 2020 is about much more than just a new look. The user experience is being completely overhauled, with a focus on minimising mouse clicks and removing redundant or repetitive activities.

FilePro now represents over a million lines of computer code – so this is very much a major project. The good news is there is no need for a complete re-engineer.

What does this mean for me?

Basically, over the next two years you’ll receive a brand new practice management system without any cost or disruption to your firm. The fully upgraded software will have a modern interface, look and functionality, as well as an improved user experience and interaction.

The scope of this project does mean that some one-off customisations, new features and function requests may be delayed during the project. The good news is many previous requests are being addressed as part of the transition.

Your understanding will help ensure the timeline below is met and the project meets the standards you have come to expect from us.
